so… i’m in california right now. and the strangest thing, is that ever since i landed in san jose yesterday, i have had NO cell phone reception. EVER. my phone is dead.. so even though i have this “great nationwide plan” i can’t make any calls… none. this is a bit frustrating, when i want to call home … or to be able to call nate to ask quetsions…
but enough about my dumb cell phone. i’m in california. i’m wearing short sleeved t-shirts and it’s comfortble. i like this weather. i’m glad it’s not any warmer 
oh.. and another thing.. yesterday when i flew in… met john in the airport… picked up my luggage… and then we stood in line for over an hour to rent the car that i reserved online. over an hour! but it turned out to be a pretty good thing.. because the lady at the counter (who was wearing an awesome 80′s painter type hat. heh) said “well.. since you’ve been waiting so long… how bout we give you a mustang instead of the economy car… for the same price.” how can i say no to that? heh. so i’m driving around california in a grey mustang. 
and another thing… both me and john didn’t know what time we had to be at the church.. or even where the church was.. today for nate and maria’s wedding. but sure enough.. things worked out great. here’s a recap of how it all came into play yesterday:
john flys in to san jose around 10am. i fly in around 1pm. i run into john right away. pick up my bag… stand in line for the car… get a stinkin’ sweet car for waiting so long. we drive into san jose, trying to find the apple store. (yea.. i’m a nerd. but i also had reasons for doing that too.. just wait) we have no luck finding that.. but we park and find this nice little sandwich place to catch some lunch (even though it’s almost 4pm at this point) the people there are really nice, and we ask to use a phone book… and the guy who lent us the phone book also calls the apple store to get directions. (which was a really good thing.. cuz i would have never found that place!) so we stop in at the apple store… which.. was the SMALLEST apple store i’ve ever seen. but that was cool.. the people there were nice… and let me print of directions (see.. i told you i had a reason to find the apple store) to the hotel in monterey. we got caught in traffic on the way to monterey… but find the hotel right away. then i looked up on my computer (luckily i saved the email i got from nate and maria) where the church was for the wedding. then i find out that the church is less than 2 miles from the hotel. but we still have no idea when to meet at the church. so we try to call nate… but get his voicemail. so we leave a message. but since we had some time… we decide to just drive past the church so we know where it is. while we were driving around it.. we notice some cars parked behind the church… john was like “that would be too perfect if it was nate … but it couldn’t possibly be true” but as we pull in.. some people come out of the church.. and sure enough… it was nate, maria and familys of both! they were on their way out to a dinner together.. and asked me and john to join us. so we all went to this great mexican resturant here in monterey. it was awesome!
so God has been with us all in this crazy extravaganza… it’s pretty fun.. and i still can’t believe that i’m in california.. and that nate and maria are getting married today. TODAY!
