God’s timing is perfect. usps‘s timing on the other hand… STINKS!
so here’s a recap of my day. and examples of the above statement…
example 1: i get up, go to work. when i wake up, i have the beginning of a migraine headache. i take some excedrin migraine before i drive to work. i get to work, the headache only gets worse. i help some customers. i get light headed and dizzy. i help some more people. i get even more dizzy and lightheaded. i go in the back and drink some water. now my head hurts more, and my stomach begins to hurt. it finally gets so bad that i went home early from work. as i’m leaving work, i check my voicemail, and get a call from a friend. i can tell from the message that something was on their mind and they wanted to talk. so because of my inability to stand at work, i now had the rest of the afternoon free. i give my friend a call back, and we meet for lunch. it was such a blessing to be able to be the listening ears for my friend. God has truly blessed me with friendships that are real, true, and deep.
example 2: i’m sitting in front of my computer thinking… “hey.. i should work on ryan veil’s website… who calls at that very moment? yep. ryan. so look at that.. i already had the files open and i could ask him some quick questions before finishing up some letterhead and whatnot. sweet.
and finally, example #3: i find a box, a PERFECT fit for nate and maria’s wedding picture prints… so i start to pack it up around 10pm, write a little note for inside… look up their address… write the address on the box, and finish getting the package ready around 10:45pm. the post office by the airport closes at 11:00pm, so i still have time. i’m almost out of gas.. so i stop by the gas station and put $5.07 of gas in my car in order to get to the post office. i pull up to the PO with 5 minutes to spare! what great timing! i proudly walk in the door with my package….. only to find a printed sign staring at me saying “the post office will be closed today at 10:00pm and will reopen tomorrow at 7am. we are sorry for any inconvenience.”
oh little printed sign, i’m sure you are not sorry AT ALL about my inconvenience. AHHHH!!
anyways. enough about my anger towards the united states postal (non)service
the past couple days have been pretty cool.. and i haven’t had a chance to sit down and type up all that has been going on. so let me give a bit of a recap. the past couple nights i’ve been cooking stuff. it’s weird for me to say that. but i have. on sunday night i had some of my friends from work come over and i cooked some kebab pizza and other random danish foods. we played cranium.. which was pretty funny. i had only played the game one other time… and that was when i was on team. board games like that really make me realize how much i don’t know about things. *shrugs* o well. me and jimmy won anyways. heh.
and yesterday i got a random call from vicki from west lakes. “hey.. we are going to the apple store at mayfair… are you there?” and it just happened to be my day off… so it worked out great.. i got ready and met them (not the whole team was there.. just vicki, josh, and elizabeth) at the apple store and got some stuff i’ve been meaning to get (like the ipod photo camera connector. yessss!). i had to leave there right away and go donate blood. (which might be the reason why i was not feeling so good today actually…) but then i met up with the three west lakers (heh) back at my apartment. i had started making frikadeller the night before… so i had the meat all mixed up in the fridge. so i made them a traditional danish dinner.. with frikadeller (meatballs) and potatoes w/ béarnaise sauce. (unfortunately i had already eaten all the salad (with corn in it.. of course) so i couldn’t offer them that as well)
welp. i’m gonna get back to work… oh hey.. if you are around milwaukee, come to the apple store at 6pm on friday… it will be a party
