today when i got home.. my ipod was waiting for me on my computer chair. shortly afterwards my headphones

came tumbling in the door. (literally actually. i have a feeling it’s cuz our side door doorbell doesn’t work.. so the package was left between the doors even though i was sitting at home. heh)

so there’s my entry for today. illinois and ill noise. get it? ok. nevermind. i think i am funnier in my head than i am in real life… -P

web ministry

June 27th, 2005

i don’t think many people/churches realize the difference between a ministry’s website and web ministry. (go read that article.. it’s a good one)

601

June 25th, 2005

i just spent the last 12+ hours working on my webpage. yes… over twelve hours. and you are probably thinking to yourself… “uhh.. what changed?” well i upgraded from wordpress 1.2 to 1.5.1.2. and if you don’t know what that means… then don’t worry about it. basically i did a lot of work with code in the back-end of my webpage.. installed some new plugins (see there on the right.. there’s the music that’s playing, and the weather outside. etc.) and i finally think i got everything working correctly again.

one big change: now in order to post a comment on my page, you must register first. i hope this will prevent ‘spam comments’… which are just a pain in the behind! so thanks in advance for registering! -)

another change: if you notice in the comments, everyone has a picture next to their name. well i just recently learned about this, and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. so i added it to my page -) first off… you can have your picture next to your name too… just by going to gravatar.com, sign up (using the email address you use when leaving comments… since the picture will be “linked” to that email address), and upload an image. neat eh?

oh.. and i also should mention… that this is post #601 here on everymoment.org (which includes past posts from tracyapps.org as well). too bad i lost all those posts from last year.. cuz i’m sure i would probably be closer to 800 posts. -)

anyways. that’s all the web-news i have. please let me know if you see anything ‘funky’ or if something doesn’t work. i tweaked a lot of things… so if something doesn’t work… i wouldn’t be surprised *grin*

and last but not least… our jazz quartet, metafour, is playing tonight at ruby g’s coffeehouse in milwaukee. the coffeehouse is on 21st and wells, right by marquette university. we will be playing from 7-9pm, so stop on by if you are in the neighborhood! bring a friend. bring twenty friends. and bring money for tips. -)

anyways. i need to go to bed now… since it’s almost 3am. heh

long awaited wp upgrade

this is just a test post to make sure that everything is working fine.

my webpage on the other hand is not doing so well. i mean.. it’s still working.. but i can’t figure out what’s wrong with my plugins.. so i’ll have to post this at all my journals by hand… grrr.

anyways. sorry about not posting lately. i’ve actually had a lot to say lately.. but i was hoping to fix my webpage first. but this just can’t wait anymore. so here goes nothing.

so life for me is going well. i’m getting a bit worn out from working so much.. but it’s nice to be able to buy stuff for people. i like that. i like that a lot. so i can ‘suck it up’ and work 60 hours a week for a bit… things will slow down… soon.

a bit of a recap of my life… i had a great weekend. i spent pretty much the whole day on sunday with ry.. and it was great. i went to the batting cages for the first time in a loooong time… and i remembered how much i loved going to the batting cages -P i even found my bats and my batting glove(s).. so i was able to use my own stuff. -)

on saturday i got to hang out with cari, amy and joe… and several others actually. it was joe’s birthday so we all went bowling. i got out of my jazz gig with enough time to make it down to the south side to hang out… dance all crazy to vanilla ice… and to throw some heavy round rocks at the poor innocent little pins at the end of a long wooden road. (yep. bowling. w00t)

at lunch today, the subject of international travel came up somehow… and i found someone else who has been do danmark and loves it there. (well .. OF COURSE they loved it there… what’s NOT to love about danmark?! -) ) so i had a great time talking about fun danmark things… and still attempting to say rød grød med fløde… *grin*

and speaking of my time in the lunch room. i saw the milwaukee journal sentinel (newspaper) on the table.. and saw my good friend naomi on the front page! in the metro section.. there was a whole article on the o’brien family. it was soooo cool. they are such an amazing family… i’m so glad there’s such a nice article written about the endless love that they share. i had to scan in the front page as well as the article…. go read the article.. it’s awesome. -)

the o'briens! such an awesome family!

in other news.. i sent in my rsvp to their wedding… i’ll be buying some plane tickets this week. -D i’m super excited to spend an extended weekend in houston… and ry is coming with… which makes me just that much more excited about the trip. -D

i’ve been thinking a lot about the holidays lately. it’s something i really can’t escape.. since.. well.. i live in the states… where everyone seems to use ‘the holidays’ as an excuse to spend 10 times more on their electric bill.. and flood the malls to buy ‘the perfect gift(s)’. i’ll admit that i fall into this “Christmas mode” many times… but i really try to remember the true meaning of the whole holiday. i kind of want to do something different when i have a family of my own… like maybe celebrating Christmas on a different day… just to bring more meaning to the holiday… and then i wouldn’t have to worry about all the “family gatherings” overlapping times and such. *shrugs* i donno.

random topic change. i was just reading this article at relevant… and something just struck me. (more like clubbed me over the head with a 2×4)

Over 50% of marriages in the church end in divorce. Did they all just not find “the one?” You know, the person that was planned for them since before the creation of the world? Or did they not understand love? Most of us focus our attention on finding the right one instead of becoming the right one. The fact is that God cares more about who I am and who I become than who I end up with.

now isn’t that just a huge wakeup call? we are too focused on finding the right one instead of becoming

how deep is your love download mp3

the right one. why do we think of ourselves as so perfect that we don’t need to change to fit with another person? or do we ever think “well.. i’m done changing/growing now…” and while that sounds silly… it’s kinda how we all act. we think that our years in school are when we learn and grow… and maybe sometimes we’ll continue taking classes… but we are pretty “set” when it comes to the learning part of life. but really… it’s the opposite. when we grow older.. it’s harder for us to realize our downfalls.. our quirks… our weaknesses. but every day we should allow ourselves to be changed and shaped by God.

this just reminds me of the whole imagery of the potter and the clay. this image always holds a large place in my heart… because of my background with ‘creating’ things. if a material is too tough or too gross… i just throw it away. it’s not worth it trying to make a clay vase out of something full of rocks and cracks. well when we think we are done growing and changing… that’s kinda what we are. full of rocks and cracks. i am in no way perfect… nor am i even close. but i recognize this fact…. heck, i even embrace it. because i’m not perfect… but that’s ok. i wasn’t created to be perfect. we are all broken people… and if we weren’t, Christ didn’t even have a reason to come here. we wouldn’t have Christmas. we wouldn’t be flooding the malls and embellish our living areas with more lights than our power outlets were intended for…. we wouldn’t be sending Christmas cards… or getting off of work to spend time with our families.. to laugh. to celebrate. to eat. (and eat some more… and have leftovers…. to eat… for DAYS…)

so this entry kinda tied itself back into an almost coherent thought. who wouldda thunk?

June 17th, 2005

it’s that time of year again… family reunion-o-fun. -) speaking of that… why am i still awake? i have to get up earrrrly in the morning to drive to the family reunion. bleh. oh well.. i have to wait for my laundry and then pack.

and since i haven’t updated in a while, i have recently stumbled upon some websites i want to share. so here they are.:
funny ipod commercial spoof a random person dressed in all black danced around an apple store. random.
speaking of ipods…. podapic.com a neat thing to do with your pictures. -)
1984 commercial. the revolutionary “1984″ commercial by apple… it was only run twice… and was the first commercial to not show the product. very much like apple’s “keep you in suspense” mentality that they have kept up for ages! -D
garfield comic creator this is just plain fun. -)
and i’m not sure if i posted this or not before.. but here is a funny flash driving movie called yes / no. learn well little grasshopper.

gotta go put my clothes in the dryer.
