Frightening Beauty

September 30th, 2005

Wow, what’s taken my breath away lately? Sadly, I’d have to say the terrifying beauty that is the wildfire burning through the hills just east of my house. At night, there are these ribbons of glowing flame criss-crossing the hillside. From afar, like down here in the valley looking up, it’s an awesome sight.

Then I have to remember that what looks like brilliant orange veins in the rock to me is really a line of flames a hundred feet high devouring the brush and trees for acres along the ridgelines.

Gasp!

September 30th, 2005

Hi – Marie here from: Cosmo GRRL!

Hmmmm – what takes my breath away? Today it was how cute my 3 month old was at Mommy & Me fitness. She’s in the process of discovering her hands and can now entertain herself for brief periods of time. During today’s class she “wrestled” with her Baby Gund Puppy for an entire hour! It was soooo cute!

takes my breath away…

September 30th, 2005

I remember that part from a song, “takes my breath away…” but I don’t remember any more of the song, or who sang it, or if I like it or not. :P

I remember getting the wind knocked outta me once. But I don’t remember how. Maybe that was the time a friend talked me into playing tackle football with him, his sister, and my brother. I didn’t know what I was doing nor did I know that we should have been wearing football getups for that. Needless to say, I was crying soon after. I think I must have been 10 at the time or something.

Hmmm… every time I rode with a friend’s father… yeah that took my breath away… and not in a good way, either… There was the time he was driving and writing something on paper, at the same time. In the back, I saw us approaching a stopped school bus. Never until that point had I ever felt was it was like to really be trying to say something but not be able to get a word out. I could only gasp and hit my friend. She kept saying “what? what!?” as she looked at me. She looked forward and saw the same thing she did. The same effect came over her and she started hitting my brother, since she sat between us.

Thankfully, we are alive today. Though I may end up with early gray hairs because of that crazy, crazy man.

PM Invader

September 30th, 2005

Hello PM from JustPureMood.com invading guest posting.

The weather has taken my breath away! Yikes. Wednesday we were near 90 and lows of 70′s and *bam* all of a sudden Thursday we experienced a high of 70 and a low 40. Yikes! Fall has definately alerted me! I love warm temps and will miss it now that the season has changed. I love fall, too. Winter isn’t so bad, either. I love to get a snowfall on Christmas I simply can’t stand the cold. I was freezing with the dip in temps… Thankfully, it’s warming back up to the high 80′s this week, so the warmth isn’t over, yet.

FFAF is open on my site too, for any who’d like to come take part! Enjoy the weekend, ya’ll )

Sleeping Children

September 30th, 2005

Just the other day I was checking in on my little ones before going down to bed. Precious, sweet and cute (of course mainly when they are sleeping :P) I was just taken back when I realized how big my son is getting. He’s so tall and big for going on five. Memories of him when he was a little baby flashed inside my mind.

At that moment I had to snuggle him for a moment. If I could just hold him forever and never lose that sweet little smell he has. I know I can’t stop him from growing up but it sure did make me realize I treasured him.

September 30th, 2005

Hi. Tray.

First off, thanks for posting on my site. Woohoo, looks like I’m the first one here.

What has taken away my breath lately? Scuba diving actually. Well, not exactly scuba diving, but more what I saw while diving. I went with a group of friends to Bali Island in Indonesia just the beginning of this month. Just like any normal dive trip, except that we had (or rather, I had) two objectives to meet. they were to have a first hand sighting of the huge and odd Oceanic Sunfish, and the very majestic Manta Rays.

As luck would have it, we were very fortunate enough to very successfully meet our objectives. Three sightings of the Oceanic Sunfish, and 14 Manta Rays, which were probably circling us as we waited at a spot to observe them. To me, Manta Rays are as graceful as underwater creatures go. With great big wings, it almost seems as though they were flying through the water.

Simply awesome!
