This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Sara Santiago delivers an emotional roller coaster of a talk with hearty guffaws and powerful, empathetic silences. She has suffered from epilepsy, and consequently, has moments of her life literally ripped away from her by her seizures. Sara warns us to cherish the moment, to make our stories, and to share our stories while we still can.

Sara speaks to clinical caregivers on improving care for patients with chronic or progressive illnesses, and gives frequent talks to groups of chronically ill patients, empowering them to find the strength and humor they need to overcome the obstacles of their illness and prove to themselves that their physical limits do not define them.
