a giant danny head + a poster design + friends = an ubercool day

April 3rd, 2003

so here’s my exciting day so far.

i didn’t sleep well, and woke up insanely early this morning. (for me at least) i checked my email to find an email from andi miller (the midday dj for the fish radio station) asking me for a life-sized color printout of danny clayton’s head (the fm program manager for the fish, as well as a morning show dj). i love when andi asks me for help with projects… they are always the most interesting things. -P so after printing out a giant head, i drove it over to the fish studio.

oh, and speaking of computer projects, last night i designed a poster for the “city wide worship” event coming up (which will be sponsored by several campus ministries here at uwm, and a time to get together in unity, and worship God! yay!!). and after a couple hours, i came up with a poster design that i actually like. -)

so anyways, i’m super excited for the crusade meeting tonight. i was walking around putting up posters, putting handouts on tables, etc., and the coolest thing was i kept running into friends of mine! it was so awesome and just made my day even brighter! -D (HI REBECCA! *waves* -) ) and now, i just can’t wait till 6pm when everyone gets here. i think i’m gonna have to go downstairs and play the drums to get rid of some of this energy!! *hugz* have an AWESOME day all!! -D

it’s like a Christian kegger…

March 14th, 2003

what does a bunch of college students (over 50 of them) plus a keg of sprecher root beer, drums, guitars, amps, a microphone, a pool table, twister, video camera, digital cameras, music, and a thursday night equal? just the best thursday night party on maryland avenue, THAT’S what! -) (especially since all the other parties that happen on maryland ave, on a thursday night, consist of underage drinking, drugs, smoking, incoherentness, falling down a lot, and a headache the next morning.) our root beer kegger, on the other hand, was much more fun, we had live music, lots of great fellowship, no injuries, no regrets, and everyone will remember the fun we had! *grin* (who says Christians don’t have any fun?! ha!)

so here’s some pics from the party:

in the kitchen
(how many people can we fit in the kitchen? *grin*)

jeremy, david and cari
(jeremy and david singing a very… interesting… version of “awesome God”)

as always, i took LOTS more pictures, so check them out here. some movies should be on their way soon…. but for now… i’m off to bed!

chex mix is good…

March 6th, 2003

yes. yes it is. i never realized how good chex mix is for breakfast *grin*

but anyway, enough of that. i have to share my joy. i got a really good grade on my first speech for my public speaking class.

and to further show my nerdyness, check out my movies page to actually see my speech. -) it’s an informaitonal speech on Christian music. it was really hard to keep that sucker under five minutes!

oh, and also, i saw this on sarah’s webpage, and decided to try this here. fill in the blanks! leave them in the comments. -)

i ______ tracy.
tracy is _____.
tracy thinks a lot about _______.
when I think of _________, i think of tracy.
if i were alone in a room with tracy, i would _______.
i think tracy should ________.
tracy needs __________.
i want to ____________ tracy.
if i could describe tracy in a word: ________.

before i fall asleep on my keyboard…

February 21st, 2003

i just have to post the latest songs from campus crusade this week. so go here to listen and/or download some mp3s. -)

also, i had my first major speech for my ‘public speaking‘ class this week wednesday, and it was super fun. i did the speech on Christian music (would you expect anything different from me? *grin*) and let me tell you, man was it hard to keep that speech under five minutes!

any-who. before i fall asleep sitting here.. AGAIN. i’m off to bed.

no. the dirty laundry pile did not eat tracy

January 31st, 2003

i’m freezing. i suppose if i stopped eating ice i would not be. *shrugs* o well

but anyways, i’ve been so bad at posting at my webpage, you would think that i had no life to talk about, but it’s the opposite actually. life has been difficult and awesome at the same time. i was dropped from all my classes before the semester, because they didn’t get my payment in time. so it’s been a struggle to get back into my classes. but sure enough the excuse “i’m graduating in may” actually works! -D

and now that i’m in my classes, i’m excited for the semester. i’ve got one structured class (public speaking), two semi structured classes (photo techniques & a film class), and one completely open class. (fibers workshop) and in that class i just have to come up with some art projects, of my choice, no limits, no criteria. i love the freedom, and i’m super geeked about my first project idea. it’s taken from the Bible, II corinthians 4, 7-15, with the main focus of the project on the “earthen vessels” (which are the clay jars used for oil and grain.) which are put through an intense process by the potter to make them into beautiful, useful jars. i just find it awesome that God is the master potter, and we are His masterpiece. we go through tough times, but at all times we are in the strong, loving, caring hands of our Lord. and i still find it amazing that He will never throw away a piece of clay.

i’ve got a lot of other things to update you on, like how much fun i had at winterjam, but i’ll wait till i get the 12 rolls of film back from that. i also must say that there is such an awesome “renewed spirit” at crusade this semester. after the break, so many people are back with a revived fire, it’s so encouraging! i also have to say that i’ve seen numerous prayers answered lately, it’s awesome! and now, i’m gonna go work on something, maybe getting some pictures up… maybe working on homework… maybe changing out of my pj’s… or maybe i’ll just sit here eating more ice. *grin*

lack of postage…

January 24th, 2003

sorry peeps. i’ve been busy with lots of stuff, and haven’t had time to post. i’m trying to get back into my classes, so that i can graduate, so that’s the main priority right now.

i also must say that justin rocks, cuz he helped me get my 120 gig hard drive working again. -)

and another thing, crusade was just what i needed. God is awesome, and i’m seeing prayers being answered so much lately. when i’m not so tired, i’ll have to post about some of the awesome things He has been doing lately. -)

one last thing, if you want to see a video i made with a small sample of all the video i took at the tcx conference over break.. check out my movies page. it’s a 16 mb file, so i’m sorry for all you modem people, it will take a while. but it is pretty cool if i do say so myself. i don’t know much about video editing, and i just played around in imovie for a while. so i’m happy with how it turned out.

off to bed. *waves*

artwork = fun

December 15th, 2002

so i did some more artwork tonight. i feel like sharing some of my latest pieces with you all… so here ya go -D (click on the thumbnails to see a really bad digital photograph of each piece… )

-o- if anyone is interested in explanations of these works… leave a comment or email me… i’d be happy to shed some light on the meanings behind each piece/series.

*does the churning butter dance*

December 10th, 2002

guess who just applied for graduation in may?!?!?!? -D

forgot to tell you…

November 19th, 2002

yea. remember when i said that i had uploaded some mp3s from our campus crusade worship team? i just realized that i hadn’t told you that i uploaded another three songs from our meeting last week. i’ll probably add more this thursday as well.. this is addicting! -P so anyways. go ahead and download all the music you can handle from here make sure to listen to “i cannot hide my love”…. i had never heard of the song before we played it… but it has become my new favorite worship song! -D (and again, note how awesome God is that we were able to play these two new songs, without having much good practice time together.. i got the chance to listen to “i cannot hide my love” THREE times before playing it… i listened to “i will bow” only ONCE before playing it…. so yea… God rocks.. i can’t say that enough. He really ‘took over’…. again. -) )

anyways… enough slacking… off to do homework!
